Overton Going Red!

             rEDOH

February is the month when the American Heart Association helps raise awareness to the millions of women who suffer with any disease pertaining to the heart. Having a healthy heart is extremely important and is in fact the most important organ in your body. The heart pumps blood throughout your body, and without this you wouldn’t be able to get any oxygen.

As February was approaching, our HOSA chapter immediately thought about what we are planning for this special month. The American Heart Association encourages people to wear red on February 6th and support heart month! We kicked off the month by posting posters that were promoted by American Heart Association all over the school. This helped to educate the students of Overton high school of how important heart month is. Our HOSA chapter also got very creative and made our health science hall burst with red so that people can get into the spirit and think about the women who suffer with heart conditions. Thankfully, that day was a success and we were proud to get so many supporters to wear red!
